Dealing With Depression - Mark takes us through the symptoms and causes of depression. He warns that if you can't sleep or fall back to sleep, have no appetite, or eat quite a bit, feel blue most of the time, have no interests, energy, or motivation, believe you are looking old or unattractive, have lost your sex drive, you may be depressed. If life is not worth living, or you wish you had a heart attack please put this offering down and call a psychiatrist, therapist, friend, police, or get yourself to an emergency room. Depression can feel like death, and in a small way it is. Though everyone has different biochemistry, some are more susceptible to becoming depressed after a major loss in their lives. Through the love and support of friends and family, meds if severe enough, and humanistic therapy to get to the roots of your depression will help you survive. When you are alone get out of bed and move your body. That will help. Actually gentle yoga, Qi Gong, and Tai Chi may be the best. They bring your awareness back to the present. This state shift may be enough to get you out of your blues. But that is not enough. Cognitive therapy along with medications and a humanistic appproach may free you from it's clutches.
